Search engines are everywhere!
There are International search engines, national search engines, local search engines, theme based search engines, portals, vortals, directories... you name it!.
Just which search engine is for you depends on personal preference.
In all honesty however, there are only a handful of true search engines which provide their own databases.
Crawlers like Mamma and Dogpile simply search
the search engines. Directories like Yahoo and Looksmart are not true search engines in that they are compiled
by human editors who decide what sites stay and what sites go. The advantage is they can signficantly reduce spamming, thus keeping their database limited and efficient. The disadvantage of
course is they may be biased.
